Scratch a transmisogynist, and you’ll always get a regular bog-standard misogynist under there.

Interestingly I’ve seen surprisingly little outcry from these quarters over the new ruling. Almost as if they could do without reproductive rights as long as trans people are denied healthcare, too.

See also: the skeptic community, who have been rather bad overall on trans rights (and basic biology). Kiss goodbye to evidence/science-based medicine, something you thought might be a worthy sacrifice, so long as trans people can’t get medicine.

btw, reproductive justice, evidence-based medicine and trans healthcare are all intimately-linked struggles; if you support one, you usually support the others, and if you’re bad on one, you’re bad on one or both of the others, too

Finally, I should point out that these banned words will likely have implications on LGBT provision in general (e.g. HIV prevention) and foetal medicine, too. CONGRATS, ANTI-TRANS BIGOTS THIS IS ON YOU.

Wow. Banning words is a sure sign of a desperate and morally bankrupt regime. I hope the CDC just do a find-and-replace, so their documents refer instead to ‘non-cisgender people’, or better still, ‘people oppressed for their gender identity’.
I’m not sure how much this sort of thing can fairly be blamed on twits in this country – I mean, Trump probably doesn’t read the New Statesman. But they can be blamed for helping to create an environment of hostility rather than solidarity with trans people. It’s definitely true that trans rights are intrinsically linked with broader healthcare rights and bodily autonomy rights, and opponents of those things tend not to draw a distinction between them.
